LSU College of Art + Design
During my time at LSU, I was employed by the Graphic Design Student Office. Here, a select group of students were able to get real world experience of handling client requests. GDSO also served as the in-house agency for the College of Art + Design.
LSU CoA+D Annual Report
Created in collaboration with one other designer, we used this project as an opportunity to dig deep into what it meant to be a student within the LSU College of Art + Design. We hand cut the letters for each section divider and we set out in search of backdrops to encapsulate the common themes of each college. It was a great experience that took us places around campus we didn’t know existed, and made the process of putting together this 56 page book that much more rewarding. It was mailed out to thousands of members of the college’s community and one of my proudest moments as a student there.
We explored campus in search of all of the textures and scenery that make being a design student at LSU so interesting.
This publication earned a Silver International Design Award and a Silver ADDY at both the local and district level.
LSU CoA+D Lecture Series Poster
My first project for the College of Art + Design was the annual Lecture Series poster. The concept was focused on craft, so I explored different ways of using paper and cut out letters.
It was so cool to walk around campus and see these posted on bulletin boards and in the hallways around the university – proud moment! The poster folded into a mailer and was mailed to thousands in the college’s community.
All of the letters were cut out by hand (no laser cutters here!) and photographed. We used a cutting mat as the background as it’s something that all art students, no matter their discipline, ultimately have in common.
LSU CoA+D Newsletter
Each year, the LSU College of Art + Design publishes a newsletter that is mailed to members of the college’s community. This 60 page book, created in collaboration with another designer, is designed to highlight the stories and events that have taken place over the past year.
We introduced a series of grid patterns, which each school within the college having their own unique pattern. These grids were used not only as a design element, but also a way finding tool as you progress through the book.
This publication earned a Bronze International Design Award.
